Yeah, there are some in post which currently serve no purpose, such as gwen's broken flute and tattered cape. And there's that damn tapestry scrap in pre that Gwen WILL NOT give me, no matter how rotten I spoil her with gifts. It's specualted that Anet will add something in later that they'll be used for, but who knows?

The beautiful things are for a quest that you get from a guard near lady althea. First you have to listen to him speak to Rurik about getting a present for Althea. You HAVE to stand near them and wait for them to have the conversation AFTER that the guard gets a quest exclamation mark.
You then need to collect those two items plus a beautiful pendant. The beautiful pendant is in an unlocked chest near the bandit raiders. Then you return the items and get the quest reward. Funny thing was - when my ex introduced me to GW he told me he had never managed to find the third item - he had tried everything to get the quest .... lo and behold , a few months later - second or third character I finally solved the mystery yay and Red Iris's? They're free money Spice |

I'm currently building a house out of Raven Staves in the Southern Shiverpeaks (Talus Chute neighborhood: walking distance to Drok's shopping etc.) I'd be happy to add those quest items to my collection case when it's finished. I just need about 1000 more Troll Tusks as I'm making the case out of ivory.

You can combine the beautiful pearl, the beautiful feather, and the beautiful shell at Droknar's Forge, and you can recieve the secret letter, take it to Gwen's mother in Underworld, and she will lead you to gwen, whom will give you 250 ectoplasms as a reward.
Or you can do what I do, I just trash useless quest items... |

Well it's already been mentioned what the beautiful quest items are for. I once got the tapestry from her after buying her the cape at Foble's Fair. Had her follow me from the beginning and got her the broken flute. After hearing what she had to say I went and bought a new flute and gave it to her. I didn't have the money at that point to get the cape so I had her follow me around for healing and gave every flower that I saw drop to her. When I finally got the money for the cape I was at Foble's Fair at the time and got her the caper. She then gave me the tapestry in return.
Don't know what it's for but I heard that if you take the tapestry, tattered cape and broken flute to her in the UW (supposedly she is down there) something happens. Don't know what, could be anything from a simple thank you to her telling a story to maybe a quest reward of some kind. I remind you that it's something that I heard (you know one of those "heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend"). |

Aidans' Marks aren't exactly quest items. You actually, for want of a better term, follow wolf crap.
Anyone see if they salvage? |

Naughty way to do gift of althea is to speak to her about the quest with 1 of the beutiful items in your inventory and she gets anygry at rurik and gives you the quest reward

I believe Gwen's mother is in the Underworld, and she asks you if you have seen Gwen because she doesn't know where she is. I think the implication is that she may still be alive somewhere. |

well the red irises *could* be sold for cash in pre...
but i prefer to sell them around valentines ^^ in burned ascalon, since there about the only living flower left.....and their great for gift-giving to potential spouses *edit* you have to give her more that just one of that red iris..i ended up giving her about 10-15 of them, and only on one chartacter did she ever give me the shred. so i saved the busted flute, tapestry shred and tattered cape in storeage, wating for whenthey finaly sort out what they want to do with her... *but personaly, i think she is holidaying in Harvest moon:magic melody, since theres a gilr listed in there called Gwen ^^ will report back on that once i get a hold of the game lol* Last edited by Rayea; Apr 11, 2006 at 10:41 PM // 22:41.. |

They should just add more things to confuse people, like a broken shoe, or a shredded jump rope, a burnt poloroid giving evidence that it was actually Gwen who destroyed ascalon. Just a bunch of useless junk like that, but they could make it so you can at least sell it to the vendor for a few gold or salvage for something.

Beautiful Feather <----Gift for Althea in Pre-Searing Red Iris Flower <-give her about 5 of these, a cape, and a new flute to get a tattered shred Beautiful Shell <----Gift for Althea in Pre-Searing Adin's Mark <----- no real use just a marker to show you the way to Adin and Scoundrel's Rise Web Marker <------See Adin's Mark except it leads to Riverside Providence and to the NPC you talk to. Tattored Shred <-----People believe this is some part of a incomplete/broken quest somewhere in the game. |
